im sure Tynan can make more discern this from the logs, but just in case, can you provide your system specs (OS, memory, etc.)?

So I'm sorry the game isn't working for you.

Step one is to turn off your antivirus and see if it works.

If that fails:

Do you ever have trouble running other Unity games? Were you able to run any of the prototypes in the Prototype Pack?

Also, could you email me at [email protected] please? Link this thread in the email. I'll send you the dev build and you can run it; it'll give much more useful output if it also crashes. Obviously you're not required to go all this trouble but it'll help me find the problem.

Hi Tynan,

I've changed Avast into 'gaming mode' and it still crashed. I'm downloading the prototype pack now.

I've sent you an email big fella.

cheers!

Tynan

I suggest trying turning it off entirely. Other issues similar to this have been caused by antiviruses.

Avast 'gaming mode' just means it doesn't vocalize any of it's alerts, it still runs silently.  Like Tynan said, try turning it off entirely.  I've had to do so to run Rimworld myself.

I have turned the Avast shield control to off. Is this as 'off' as avast gets?

Semmy

It should be but terminating it through taskmanager might work best.

It is very very difficult to terminate. It gives me access denied messages, even though I am running as administrator.

Weird.

Semmy

That is weird indeed.
Normally one can just turn of avast.

Doing this works fine for me.

You may be better off with trying to add the game binary to the list of exceptions. After all, everyone usually installas Antivirus for a reason. It's also interesting, because I'm on Win7 x64 with Avast too and it doesn't block me.

Would this be in the file system shield?
