What do i do when I have a wounded person from a crash site?

What do i do when I have a wounded person from a crash site, and when pirates attack me and my turrets wound him how do I get that person to join me and treat his wounds? Thanks...

1. Select a colonist
2. Draft him? Can't remember if it's needed or not.
3. Right-click on the downed man.
4. Select "Rescue" or "Arrest" or whatever is in there.

You have to have a prison, too - a prison is an enclosed room with beds for prisoners. To make sure beds are for prisoners, just click on one and check the icon in menu on bottom-left corner of the screen. But keep in mind, that in each room there may be only all prisoner or all colonists bed - you can't mix both types within the same room!
