I updated this sweet little mod to alpha 13. Thanks to the notes in this forum post I managed to remember how to make it appear as a meat and it should be edible to animals; it definitely is part of both kibble and meal recipes!

I color shifted the textures to be a bit more natural..

The console was throwing some errors so I had to change <preferability>Plant</preferability> with <foodType>Plant</foodType> and <preferability>Raw</preferability> in the .xml files. The new files are attached in case ther is more people with the same problem.

It should be. Since it only adds a crop and its associated graphics. And does not affect core files or biome generation.
