Camera Rotation. Is it possible?

Long story short, ....no, wait! Actually, this is not a long story:

Camera rotation: is it or is it not possible? As I was told on the sub-reddit, it would involve a LOT of work. It's not a HUGE or not even a MAJOR thing, but it would be a really nice addition to the game.

But... but.. but why?

The game is nearly complete top down, there's not any of those isometric troubles of things getting occluded because of orientation, if anything it would create issues. Might I ask what exactly moves you to want such a thing?
