So found myself late game fangin for plaststeel and thought maybe make peace with the locals so hopefully it would bring on more mech raids. But soon realised capturing and releasing the 2 pirate factions people was not influencing the hostility mood at all. Released like 10+ guys n gals from 1 of the evil factions and zippo. Is this a new feature i.e. this is war and nothings gonna change that, or a bug maybe? It still works for outlander towns and tribesman. Anyone else experienced this??
Its not a battle unless some limbs are getting shot off!

Not a bug, it seem Tynan changed the code so pirate always stay hostile no matter what you do.
"Sam Starfall joined your colony"
"Sam Starfall left your colony with all your valuable"

It would be neat if you could make peace with the pirates somehow- but everyone else hates you as a result.

You could probably do that manually by editing the XML files, but it's not quite the same.

Yeah like choices wether to take your colony the "good and civil" way or "full blowen evil". Being friends with pirates helps doing evil stuff like harvesting human meat/skin or limbs and organs off prisoners. Resulting in good buffs for running a evil/piratie colony. Well maybe
