It would add a level of realism and some in-depth content to the game that I was kinda suprised it wasent in the game already. My first playthrough I ensured I kept at least 1 male and female of each animal in the field so they would keep producing animals for me to hunt later on and was suprised when after a year no one was hooked up yet. Specialy since I only had 1 guy with the rest all female colonists 

The kids wouldnt me mature right away (I inmagine) and would take a good years before they would be usefull other then cleaning and hauling stuff as little young ones. They would be more a thing for the long term planner as I inmagine that early one they would only put a dent on already strained resources....like food 

In all fairness though I think it would make a good addition to the game

I figured it was just an unfinished interaction for colonists having time alone in their rooms relaxing, checking out furniture, sitting in a chair, etc. Only after I saw them standing in place with their backs turned enough times did I conclude this is what it is, and the forums confirmed it. 'Private time' or 'Alone time' shouldn't be anything perverted, it's just wanting time alone from all the other people. And if they do want to 'enjoy themselves' why not add part of the action for them to just lie in bed for awhile. You could use you own imagination to conclude they are masturbating, or just napping, or just day-dreaming.
Even after realizing it's supposed to be 'jerking off' I still find it weird. They huddle in the corner or stare at a wall like some sex-crazed fiend.
It just seems like this joy action could've been approached a little more maturely instead of like a snickering 13 year old boy. Now I have colonists jerking off constantly, and it's pretty obvious, not sneaky at all.
I know cannibalism and slavery exist in the game, I find those acts disgusting, but I ultimately have a choice whether my colonists do them or not. As a player I am given no choice over watching my colonists jerk off daily. I have no huge problem with personally, but I'm sure someone will find it grotesque.

If Tynan is trying to censor his own works and ideas as he creates this, the end product will suffer. If sexless-ness was a part of his original vision, the addition of sexual contact would be bad and best left to the modding community if added at all.

Well, prostitution and sex slavery are already part of the lore, thanks to histories. So sexuality is pretty unavoidable already. And honestly, I don't see anything wrong with it. Sure it's a little odd to do it like that, but they don't have bathrooms to do it at either, and I've yet to see a washing machine for the bed sheets.

I would argue that as a player, you absolutely have a choice on how to interpret anything you see on screen. In this case, you could easily choose to interpret the private time behavior to include "avoiding eye contact with the all-seeing overseer."

I don't know if this has been addressed, but there's a stockpile issue where these guys will waste 5 spots with 1x Simple Meal piles, instead of having a single spot with the 5x Simple Meals together xd
Having some kind of barrel/crate/bag system as in DF would be really handy

Until you look at the joy meter and see 'lewd' joy increasing, but yes, much of the game is up to interpretation(and willful ignorance)

If Rimworld had an ESRB rating, it would be M for sure - the game features cannibalism, violence, drugs, nudity, alcohol, 90-year old sex slaves(!) etc. etc. I'm not reallly seeing a whole lot of censoring here. Replacing "private time" with "wanking" isn't going to make this game more mature, surprisingly...

The feature is not even available in a public build yet. Give him a chance to fine-tune their um... needs.

Child labor? Raiders killing children? Eating Children? Oh that is a dark path to go down...

Come on, now. The main use for unproductive colonists like that would be to stand them in front of your snipers during battle.
