Dear Tynan Sylvester,

during your latest dev post you said the following
QuoteSorry about releasing a kind-of broken version. Im thinking that for Alpha 11...

Stop right there. rimworld is a great game with quirks, styles, and yes bug/ balance issues. but each and every one of your players bought this game knowing it was STILL in ALPHA. don't say sorry for something we signed up for. just recognize your mistakes and fix them like you have been.

rimworld is already too great a game to apologize for.

see ya at the next planet,
billycop32.

I've been more entertained by this alpha than any other game in this genre ever before.

Tynan

Thank you very much :)

However, always working to raise standards. I'd intended each alpha to be fully playable and free of breaking bugs, but I failed in that. No reason not to try to improve next time.

Don't worry, I'm not sobbing myself to sleep over it :)

Yeah, You fixed it in less than a week

Fifa is still broken 9 months later :D   Indie>>>>Main stream

Some of the quirks provide very entertaining experiences. Who doesn't want to see the 50 year old bar fly dance around the pool table while everyone else is sitting at the bar drinking beers and eating chocolate.

This game is awesome!

The Uncanny Tranny

Don't worry Tynan, you're pretty enough to get away with it~

Personally, I feel the fun of playing an alpha game is the access to game-breaking bugs. It leads us to figure out ways around them for the moment and we get to see how they are fixed eventually. Its all part of the fun.

With Rimworld alpha and 7 Days To Die alpha, who has time for stagnant final releases!

Considering the stage the game is in, and the amount of developers (i.e just you) realeasing Alphas that have bugs, even though you strive not to, is perfectly fine, as you're willing to address and fix any bugs that do show up.

Yeah, I'll get onboard with this. I've played far crappier and broken games that were farther along the alpha phase than RimWorld. For an alpha this is phenominal and I eagerly await the final release someday.

Thank you.

Considering this game is still in Alpha AND ive played completed games which were completly ridden with bugs id say this game is alot more stable. EVEN while its still in alpha. So the ocassional bug is forgiven and reportedd to make this game bug free and completly bad ass  ;D

Also, most new games from main stream gaming companies cant keep me entertained as long as this game can...go figure :P

Dave-In-Texas

Tyn;  you have nothing to be sorry for.  I understand a desire for perfection but seriously.
you do fantastic work; thats for your attention this creation of yours that you've allowed us to experience!

KillTyrant

I dont say this lightly. I often forget i am actually playing an alpha stage game. So the bugs arent that out of line with final product triple A games. However, i as a consumer and someone that trives to better my work. Can appreciate the sentiment behind what you said.

Same here.
Well said by the way.
