[0.10.783] Electric smelter "smelts" non-metal weapons

I was testing if melee weapons actually yield raw resources which they didn't in a previous version, when I noticed my villager grabbing a marble club from the aftermath of a tribal raid and "smelted" it into 20 marble blocks...? Considering this doesn't make sense I'm reporting it, although I guess it might be a placeholder for future ways to deconstruct items?

Repro by simply starting a smelt job with a non-metal (melee?) weapon nearby.
