I started watching youtubers play the game at the initial release, but I didn't manage to get someone to buy it for me (I refuse to trust paypal with my credit card. Too many horror stories) until just over a year ago. First version I played was...


If I recall correctly, stockpiles with persistent stuff in 'em (rather than magical hammerspace stockpiles made of metal) were the new hotness at that point.

Alpha 1, made my first mod in Alpha 2  .
I still remember the times where sleeping was the only way to heal colonists, the mighty geothermal generator and early colonist textures.

I remember seeing the game on ModDB and thinking "Meh, this doesn't actually look all that great, it's likely going abandoned soon anyway." I couldn't have been more wrong, haha

Been playing RimWorld most days since February 2013. Back then "characters who can move around on the screen" was the new thing.

Pre-alpha, from kickstarter, very simple days then, I miss the simplicity a little, the game was always fun, but choosing between raw potatoes and nutrient paste was a pain

That's why I kept a copy of each alpha that i've gotten.

Been here since the kickstarter.
