I personally find this the hardest withe the new increased wildlife agro I've started a random game like all the cobras on the map got agro by other animals like monkeys lost 2 colinists of my 3 before even had finished stocking up with the starting gear Id run away from a cluster just to find anothe three slithering the other way in cold biomes so much easier

To me the biggest challenge is stupid marshland everywhere..  drives me crazy...   aarrgghhh....

If you see marshland you are in the jungle, not temperate forest :P

Actually I tried the Boreal Forest..

If the temperatures get above 90, you can easily suffer from overheating -- less likely now that colonists modify their clothing choices.

I'm not sure if it's just my experience, but I seem to experience diseases a lot more in the more temperate climates.

That's my experience with 'em, at least in the jungle biome. Malaria and sleeping sickness keeping 3-6 colonists down at all times. Temperate... not so much. The flu is common, but colonists can live through the flu and still produce.

Heatwaves and intense thunderstorms have been the biggest challenge for me so far. Usually the thunderstorms create some fires, but luckily the rain persists enough to put them out. If not, just add the area as a home region and your colonists will do their best to put it out themselves.

Resources are definitely becoming a chore to manage, especially wood. Gotta clear those trees to have good sniper shots from your protected base perimeter...
