Does your colonies distance to a faction base matter?

topic - just wondering if building closer/further from a faction base has any effect on how often you get visitors/traders/raids.

I don't think so. To my knowledge, distance to a faction has 0 impact on the game.

It would be interesting if at some point it did, though.

I wish you could trade things with neightbours :) and then you (or them) send a caravan. (which can be raided, and brings attention to the pirates.

I believe Tynan said the faction bases are only in the game to satisfy some code requirement and they currently don't do anything at all, although that could change at some point in the future.

i seriously hope tynan keeps developing rimworld just like bay12 keeps developing dwarf fortress.

also, once rimworld gets live on steam there's gonna be oodles of new peeps buzzing about. it's gonna be one of those gaming classics.

i'm also desperately hoping tynan pulls off a "klei moment" and come up with a multiplayer version of rimworld, just like "don't starve together".

it will be glorious.  ;D
