Story Tellers Player Preference

So with the direction of the game and the amount of changes I have played through from Alpha 9 and 10. I am starting to feel that the Storytellers need to be overhauled so they are not just laying out how random events will fall but are more directed to how the player wants to play the game.

There's been concern of how people play the game, how some create kill boxes or bury themselves deep into the mountain while others play in the open and others who actually try to beat the game on vanilla and try to fly their colonists back into space.

I like how we have created more variables to prevent players from doing some of the workarounds in protecting their settlement but I would also like to see the Story Tellers be upgraded to how players want to play the game.

I for one, like to build a strategically smart base and defend off large assaults, almost like a tower defense scenario and make my base as beautiful as possible (flying my colonists off is not an option to me) I like to upgrade and equip my colonists into premium soldiers and crafters alike.

In reference, I would like to see the Story Tellers be more unique to the type of scenario the player would like to play RimWorld, whether it be defending against an ever increasing assaults (hostile worlds) or a light mix (for what you would call "How RimWorld was meant to be played") and a few other suggestions would be nice but I believe this would add another key element to the game appeasing to every player.

+1 I think that this would be a good addition as well because like you, I like to build bases ment to take on attacks like a tower defense because if I send my people back to space I have to start all over aging. I would prefer to just build my military base colony and see how far I can go.

Sounds like a great idea i feel like this could help the game a lot since it would allow people to get easier in the game and to really choose there own style which in the long run is just a great thing for the game and its community.

Btw Rimsenal storyteller(mod) is a good "Tower defence" storyteller.

Basically you are asking for themed Storytellers.

Although Tynan would surely say that he 'doesn't plan ahead' it has always been to my understanding Rimworld is intrinsically built around Events, the more of them the better, at which point you might as well start grouping them.

From the website presentation of Rimworld :
Quote[...]we're considering other AI Storytellers, too. High population storytellers, starvation storytellers, seasonal storytellers, moody storytellers, and anything the community thinks up are all on the table.

So I made this topic, which I'm going to modify a little.
Still, I would see why it can take a while before the idea become worth it. The Alpha doesn't have enough Events yet, and before you start making a lot of them to increase game variety you need to add the mechanics those event will use.
Hence the Alpha state...
"Sam Starfall joined your colony"
"Sam Starfall left your colony with all your valuable"
-------
Write an Event
[Story] Write an ending ! (endless included)
[Story] Imagine a Storyteller !

Very good point, at the same time we are in Alpha though, I feel that some diversity of story tellers (not just the way events come out) but more driven how we want to play the game will better assist development. That's somewhat my whole point since I've read areas of concern of "hiding in mountains" "kill boxes" and how do we get the AI to work around the threats/defenses which shouldn't be the focus or concern in my opinion.

If a "rough" category of playing styles were put into the story tellers right now, I think that would change peoples opinion of the game and how we suggest to shape its future to Tynan.
