is elona dead?

i saw this game from the suggest a game thread and was curious enough to try it.
but anyways, is this game no longer continued or is elona+ like it's continuation?

also, can anyone suggest games with similar functionalities to this? hopefully with better controls/graphics? (2d or 3d) but i don't really mind the graphics.

reminds me so much of the j-rpgs from carpe fulgur like recettear, chantelise, and fortune summoners.

I'm pretty sure Elona is dead. Elona+ is an unofficial continuation, but none of the new content is translated to English (it's Japanese).

If you like roguelikes, you might want to check out DoomRL, a roguelike version of Doom. It's fun, but fairly short. Lots of different play style options.

k. thanks for the suggestion. btw are there others that are more like jrpgs, but keeping the rogue-like element?

preferably like elona but with better graphics?

I don't play in games like this (and i even don't know what Elona exactly is), but Tibia, maybe?
