Since i got back into the game in Alpha 11, i am having a huge problem with sappers, whenever they come, they always kill/shoot a limb off one of my colonists, and i like to play on randy random so i can get a bunch of sappers in a row, which sucks for me. Anyway, are there any good tactics for dealing with them?

This sounds less of a sapper specific problem and more of a general defense problem but in any case I'm assuming they are avoiding your turrets entirely. A good tactic is to use colonists with shields behind good cover to distract all the shooting guys and move them back when their shields drop low and replace them with another colonist with a shield. It requires some micromanagement and it works best if they can get behind a door quickly so that you don't risk your low shield guys getting hit unnecessarily. I usually use turrets instead of shielded colonists to take the hits while the other colonists shoot or flank the enemy.

or just go out and attack the escorts before the sapper reaches your base. While the sapper is digging/destroying walls, the escorts are easy targets just like the siege defenders.

I look forward to this AI aspect being fixed. I love a challenging enemy, and sitting ducks aren't challenging.

I like games, but unfortunately they don't help me get a degree.. so I'm going to be inactive for awhile.
