The world feels different somehow.

An event that temporarily amplifies negative mood effects and potentially makes positive mood effects into negative ones. Plus a bunch of creepy descriptions. Deep-insanity style.

- Observing corpses has a much larger effect.
"The dead... I can feel their stares."
"I can hear their pleads for help... stop. Please make it STOP."

- Socializing with any other colonists may have the same effect as talking to an Abrasive pawn.
"Someone just said something I couldn't understand... it was horrifying."
"Someone talked to me with a voice that wasn't theirs... I feel uneasy."

- Spacious rooms may produce negative effects. Cramped ones get amplified.
Spacious interior "This room... why does it feel like it's expanding?"
Cramped environment "I can feel the walls inching closer. Their whispering voices gets louder... someone please let me out."

- "Convinced by Warden"
"How the warden described this colony... it was incredibly disturbing."

You guys get the general idea.
I just want a bit more conflicts between my colonists to happen.

mmm, I don't think this would make a good event, perhaps a disease? Treatable or no would make a huge difference. Perhaps the older you are/ Longer you have it, the harder it gets to heal? Definitely would make a large time inner colony issue.

Actually, I agree.
It being a disease I think would be more interesting. I currently don't have an idea of how you would catch it though.

Temporary isolation of sick colonists. Neat.

I think you would catch it by being around corpses/death. The older you are makes it easier to 'Catch' it. Possibly starts out with depression? or something similar to warn you that it's getting to risky. Of course it'd be soon after that you would 'Catch' the disease.

a disease sounds cool,
come to think of it this would make an awesome "psychotic" trait.
as in,its alot harder to maintain there mood, and they're prone to go on psychotic rampages.
and in exchange they would get heavily increased combat ability,
(or crafting/art if you wanna go all mad artist with it)
making them a glass cannon character,
if you keep them happy, they can be effectively super soldiers,
but if you cant,(or the rng just hates your guts)
you have a source of super strong (and heavily armed given they're logically your soldier)
psychopaths roaming your base killing everything they see.
