RimWorld is the kind of game that destroys a person's humanity, so I don't know if this is going to apply to anyone else, but here I go:

When I got my first toxic fallout, and all of the wildlife around me starting puking and dying slow/painful deaths, it actually kinda got to me a little bit.
I don't think I've ever had a RimWorld experience quite as dramatic as watching all of the wildlife die this way.
Kudos to Tynan for finally getting to me on an emotional level :-[

Although, I will admit to laughing hysterically at each boomrat that exploded in the distance due to the toxic fallout. Haha, anyways...

Is anyone else worried about the baby animals in Alpha 12? D:

Segrog

I remember a huge fire starting and burning my colony because of a toxic fallout and boom rats. But hey, free meat X 200

I like how this game can result in quotes that would be quite unnerving when said in public, out of context. - Myself

The dubious quotes list is now public. See it here

harpo99999

the toxic fallout cause ALL corpses outside and not undercover to ROT as well as slowly killing all the plant life (btw trees seem to be a bit more likely to survive the fallout than bushes/grass/crops etc

TheDirge

I love the toxic fallout event, makes everything seems so cheerful and happy.

I just love the smell of rotting corpses in the morning..smells like..3 day old lasagna

This one's gone :D

Yup, pretty much sums up the RimWorld mindset ;D

Perhaps a "Noah's Ark" tactic is required!

All the animals, get into the wood room!

I will probably end up creating a safe room for animals if a way to "herd" animals is ever included.

That would require a LOT of food.

2 of each animal probably actually wouldn't take that much, if you think about it in RimWorld's current state. However, we have no idea how Tynan rebalanced hunger for animals yet, so :-X

Chadamir

I had a toxic fallout last over 4 months... every tree, plant, animal, unlucky visitors and raiders were dead. I had to rush hydroponics just to survive off potatoes for the last month.

Daman453

I can't say anything about the alpha 12, but so far from what i have played you could build a pen for the animals, they breed then you get the map full of animals back. Sounds fun, still playing (AND NO I WILL NOT TALK ABOUT IT ANYMORE, NO EXCEPTION)

For flu, try a cock. If that doesn't work, try boobmilk. Nice.

Jaxxa

I don't think you were supposed to say that much.

Daman453

We already knew you could breed, right? ... please i don't kno- (silence)

Lol, SPOILER ALERT :D

All I know is, I'm going to be genuinly upset if any of my pets die due to toxic fallout :(

We better have an "allowed zone" for our animals or an ability to herd them in trying circumstances haha.

But I dont want any testers getting in trouble, so dont spoil it for me ;D

July 6
  • Tame animals respect their allowed areas if they have them.
July 11
  • Added a new overview tab to assign animal areas.
  • Separated animal allowed areas and humanlike allowed areas.
So they'll have allowed areas, similar or identical to the ones colonists already have. I assume you can just keep your animals inside during a toxic fallout, as long as you have enough food for them. You might have to hold open a door for them to move through it. Hmm... will we be able to train some animals to open doors?
Some sort of psychic wave has swept over the landscape. Your colonists are okay, but...
It seems many of the scythers in the area have been driven insane.
