Let's all discuss our new furry friends.

First time out since testing and I get my first non Labrador pet

Not sure I trust her though :D

Mr.Cross

I know how you feel, as I got a husky or this playthrough. In a way I'm glad I got the husky, cause I tried the random spawn button (I mashed it a couple hundred times with out looking) and got stuck in a boreal forest.

I always start with husky or terrier. 😕😕😕 anyone know if it's possible to make a boom rat army?

yes, yes it is.

Barley

Train that monkey in release, and give him that Plasteel Knife!

My friend started a campaign, but due to either a bug or plain luck ended up with, like, 40 Yorkies in 30 minutes of playtime.

JonoRig

I just started with a Warg, had to keep remembering to butcher animals for him to eat though

magicbush

I havnt messed with animals yet but I noticed I started with a dog. Can they attack enemies or are they just there?

Mr.Cross

You have to train them in obedience first, which if some melee attacks your dogs master (who you chose or trained the dog.) however if you take it a step further and teach it release, once your colonists says to (when you hit an added option on your colonist) any animal that the colonist owns and knows release will go out and attack enemies by them selves.

update time, Spy died fighting bravely against a granadeir inside our base during a massive raid. :( Once winters passed i'll look into taming some new family friends

I still want sheep. Cattle (which I am assuming Muffalo represent) were in reality a "high status" livestock, kept for prestige rather than any resource you could get for it. Sheep and goats were the animals raised for milk, meat, hide and hair.

At least, before industrialized agriculture. Maybe tribals could have sheep, and outlanders could have Muffalo?

Ink.

I'm waiting until someone makes a Shiba mod. Then I will have a farm of doges.

mokonasakura

3 minutes into the game I got the event that made the thrumbo show up. Looks like absol just with a longer neck.

Same thing happened to me, but sadly my handler died shortly before it showed up so, I decided to slaughter it and sell off it's horn and keep it's fur and meat for when I have a good crafter and cook.

I am also currently in the process of trying to make a war elephant army. Purchased a male and female elephant, but no luck having them breed yet, trying to force them into a smaller breeding pen than what I originally gave them to see if that works.
