Notice for the adulthood backstory 'Test Subject', it disables doctoring while also giving +3 medicine, which didn't help for me picking that colonist.

I think this is one added by the creative rewards people, so it may just be for rp purposes.

Coen is correct. It's weird but it could happen that you'd learn about medicine while also developing an aversion to it.
