Rimworld install help on Ubuntu Linux

I downloaded the file but I've had no luck trying to start it. i've made the file executable but it keeps opening it in wine, then crashing.

A little bit late, but did you try the shell script, coming in with the version 0.12.914?

It may sound stupid but are you certain you downloaded the linux version?
I don't even run the script. Just mark the bin file for your distro/cpu(.x86 or .X86_64)executable and run the file. If that fails run it from terminal and see what is reported back.

If it's launching Wine, then no, that's the Windows version. But OP hasn't posted since, so hopefully he's got it fixed.
