I know of Tynan refusal to include aliens in the game.
A pretty advanced society would eventually have to deal with the uplifting of the existing animals (also something like the boomrat is pretty much the result of genetic engeneering).

So, what is uplifting, you ask? Here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uplift_%28science_fiction%29

Just a little suggestion for the future alphas. :)

Genetically modified sentient animals are cannon. Its in the lore primer.
"So weird looking, like a twisted hulk of man and machine both scary and... well scary i mean it would look like a crab with limbs on limbs."

You don't need to make the animals into humans- You just need to make the humans into animals.  :D

In all honesty, this would give some radical differences in pawns.
Immagine an uplifted panther: aside from walking on 2 legs and thinking humanlike, it has a built in hand to hand weapon, it's formidable on quick sprints, would most likely sleep all day and would see in the dark.
Or an uplifted bear: it would eat almost anything (it's not cannibalism, if they are not bearlike), it would largely ignore low temperatures and it could function on body fat for days.

I think you people are missing the point here.  Uplifted turtles... Melee Experts... We need a Ninja trait and Nunchucks and Sai and a Staff.  With a wise uplifted Rat to help guide them.
