Looking for Homer

It's been awhile since I've done much with RimWorld, but something I saw reminded me of it, and I was wondering if anyone had seen a specific character running around their game.

Quite a while ago (Alpha 6?), I bought a creative reward for a name and used it to put my grandfather into the game - this was shortly after his sudden passing (heart attack, not even the first), and it was a spur of the moment thing I did as I was trying to handle the whole situation. So, Glen "Homer" Taber became a part of RimWorld history. I was wondering if anyone has seen him in their games - I'm sure there's thousands of names in the game by now, but it never hurts to ask, right? Here's hoping he's the same gun-toting grandpa he was in real life.

If you've seen him, let me know how he is, or was - knowing this game, he may not have survived all that long.

I think I've seen him once or twice, I'm pretty sure he was a Chief Grower of one of my colonies at one point. :)

That's really cool man, I've not seen him yet but ill keep an eye out.

I believe there is a way to have names appear from the options menu.

I bought the same deal and submitted a name. I want to say Alpha 9 maybe. It was accepted.  Hundreds of hours playing and have yet to see it come up, even when asking for it in options.

You can add your own names you want to see in the game, but I don't think there is any way to force a particular backer colonist without using the console or something like that.

I had homer join my colony as a "wanderer joins" event. At first it drew a reference to Homer Simpson but I guess this explains why he didn't have the "lazy" trait and crave donuts.

Checked my current version resources.assets file There is one Glen Taber "Homer" in file. I've yet to see my friends nor myself in game nor has Homer appeared. But don't worry he is among the 2329 listed people in Rimworld.
Each year of thy life is the foundation for the next. The man who squanders his youth needs must build his life on a foundation of mud, and then wilt it collapse.

And for some reason, all I seem to get is Agent, Redfields, Toxos and the rest of the regular gang. :p

2329 people listed?????? I could have sworn there were maybe 100-150. 2329??? How do we get colonists with the same name and backstory?
It is regular practice to install peg legs and dentures on anyone you don't like around here. Think about that.

Redfields is like... the most common colonist ever.
No idea why he shows up so much.

RNG is not really random, every time you reboot your computer, the RNG starts over at the same place, so with the same amount of running time, you will get the same RNG.

That is why so many games have the option to reset the seed, ie change the pointer on the RNG, to get different numbers.

I lost my colony to a homer. He came in with aa prototype laser gun and took down three of my colonists before getting dropped by a shotgun to the head. He wounded so many people everybody died of gangrene.
