Could be simply having them haul your farms harvest back to your freezer. You have to go back and select it every time you train a new animal, if you have certain animals being restricted to certain areas it can be annoying. I don't see why you're against this.

Argument makes no sense.

Quotehaul your farms harvest back to your freezer
Restricting hauling animals access to your meals stockpile does not stop them hauling raw food back to your raw food stockpile.

QuoteYou have to go back and select it every time you train a new animal,
Incorrect. Multiple animals can be given the same allowed area. Newborn animals inherit the zoning of their parent. I don't understand how this is so inconvenient.

Quoteif you have certain animals being restricted to certain areas it can be annoying
I cannot think of any situation I would find being able to control where each animal was allowed to be as 'annoying'. If they are not allowed somewhere you wish them to be allowed, then you can change the allowed area.

Feature is effectively already in the game. How you interpret me pointing that out as 'being against the feature already in the game' is... ???

1. You wouldn't want to give them access to your raw food stockpile, as they will eat that too.

2. I meant the menu to select for them to have which areas. I didn't mean it as in selecting the whole new area, just the fact you'd have to go into restrictions and pick which one is for that animal. Takes only 10 seconds, but if you have no other restrictions besides food it's unnecessary.

3. You kind of are ignoring the rest of what I said and my point. The fact was it's annoying to have to select your food storage areas and prevent them from entering them, and then add that to any existing restricted area or new one for the animals.

4. "This mod is not needed as it is perfectly doable with the existing vanilla game." The feature, is for animals to ignore human food and focus on food specifically for animals. The feature is not in-game, the restrictions is not a total solution to it nor is it even close to what was asked for the mod.

You're taking things I said and ignoring them basically...

Britnoth,

You're being quite cancerous. It is people like you that ruin the spirit of requests and suggestions. People don't need to be demeaned or flamed for their ideas. If you don't like the idea, that's fine. If people are suggesting it for the main game, it certainly is something to lobby for or against as a main feature. For a mod...Really? If someone decides to mod it in, how would this affect you at all? Lobbying against a mod suggestion is kinda silly bro.

Personally, I think it would be a cool idea to be able to restrict animal groups to certain types of food. The bigger problem with animals is what they can haul - I don't see a dog having the ability to keep a prison tray of food on the tray while transporting it anywhere...Nor do I think fido should be able to carrying around boxes.

Cheers,
Michael

Or how about having a puppy or pig haul the body of a critter that is multiple times their weight like say an elephant.  But then again that is where the realism fades to support gameplay etc etc.  If one person couldn't haul the corpse then it would be a lot more troublesome for gameplay.
