This is Rimworld people, Where cannibals ware pink helmets and nudest decide to go outside when its -59F, And where shit happens. Its anything but fare or balanced, Lady Luck rolls a 1000-sided dice and 80% of that dice says"Death"on it. Your job is keeping your people alive in bad rolls. Good Luck.

C&C was a great game for the time. It was bested by Warcraft 2 some months later, but it was still a good RTS that gave you something different than Warcraft 2. With its setting, graphics and rush mechanics. Was a good time to be alive when that genre was being pushed forward, Age of Empires also deserves a note, Starcraft eventually dominated that segment and then RTS seemed to die off in favor of simpler games for simpler people.

"Control 50 units? I only can control one soldier, in first person, in cinematic story mode where I just click the mouse button to progress the "game"   " ;) Part of games being accepted by a wider (and dumber) audience that happened in the 90s and early 00s that is just accepted as fact these days.

"AI? What's AI? Our track mounted and perfectly scripted robot soldiers are just what the project leader ordered!"

C&C Was and still is amazing, although I'm super dissapointed by what I bought a few posts up, got around to downloading it and the files on the newer games don't work, but the older games do. Amazing

To my hugest immense suprise, they had the copy where our high-scores were included. It was astunning experience :D You know, at that time only floppy was the USB-and-internet :D

EA acquired Westwood and released a bunch of the old games as freeware1.  Which makes this link legal:

You're welcome :)

This is so awesome.
I remember watching the fully rendered trailer for C&C over and over again.

Freude schöner Götterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium. Wir betreten Feuertrunken himmlische dein Heiligtum.
( one of the few classic tracks I know the full lyrics :) )
Maxim 1   : Pillage, then burn
Maxim 37 : There is no overkill. There is only open fire and reload.
Rule 34 of Rimworld :There is a mod for that.

Dang.  I remember a few years ago downloading the full and complete C&C:Red Alert directly from the maker's website.  I wondered why I couldn't find that same link now.  Maybe that was before Westwood was acquired by EA?
