Hey guys, I like to talk about my country, and lately some amazing things have been happening. I mean, we had a former president almost getting arrested by a corruption scheme. That NEVER happened in this scale.

This video explain a lot of what's happening. If you like politics, feel free to watch.

You almost don't hear about brazil's protests at the moment but other friends also told me, that the amount of uproar is amazing.

in the philippines, we also have a corrupt president.

but he has most of the mass media in his pockets so he is somehow able to placate most of the population. he also demonstrated that he was able to bribe legislators via DAP, using government's own money to fund the legislator's "pet projects"... so the option of impeachment is gone too.

4 trillion out of our 6 trillion of our debt occurred in just almost 6 years of noynoy's administration. far exceeding the debts incurred in the past 30 years.

sadly people are also hesitating to do a coup d'etat since his vice president is just as corrupt as the president. the supreme court is full of presidential appointees, the departments and agencies that should check for corruption are also presidential cronies/appointees who mostly targets political rivals of the president, the legislative accepts bribery in the form of lump sum budgets, and the comelec who facilitates the automated election disabled the security features needed to ensure a secure election..

it's a complete failure of all the checks and balances in the government. it's practically a dictatorship (except in name) that uses mass media propaganda and the national budget as it's carrot and stick.

Jeez, that happened here too.

You better find a judge Moro for yourselfs! That guy is being a hero in here. Well, of course, he will probably be killed, but the seed he planted, the seed of "We are not gonna accept this!" will live for long.

If we are lucky, may even change the whole country.

I read the news quite a bit and use a VPN to re-direct my news through different regions. Right now Brazil is quite interesting with Zika, the Olympics, the corruption, and the attempt to impeach.

Without a VPN I don't see any news out of the region, it almost feels like it's trying to be covered up.

Also, the communication app "Whatsapp" was annunced to be blocked for 3 days for no good reason. There was one, but it was crap.

I'm also in a "current events" competition at my school, Brazil's reason  for blocking it for "72 hours" is because Facebook uses peer to peer encryption so no one ( even Facebook themselves ) can't look at your messages.

The ban was a protest to the security because your government want's to be able to view private messages. They claim it could help some court cases but I think everyone knows the true intentions.

Yeah, but the reason makes no sense. It had nothing to do with the executive of the "parlament", it was a matter of the police. There isn't any law enforcing it nor any reason why the app had to be blocked on the whole country.

And the kind of punishment "Since you didn't help us, you are not gonna operate for 3 days" is childish. I work on sales, and about a third of the contacts I do with my team and my costumers is through whatsapp.
