What's the best Dwarf Fortress-like game?

Look up Space Colony. It markets itself as "Sims in Space" but it has more in common with Dungeon Keeper and Dorfort IMO. It's old, and is mission based (Though your base persists between missions, until you move onto the next planet. There is a sandbox mode, but you're better off playing the campaign) and there is no proc-gen. Indeed, the main appeal of the game is the pre-made characters who all have their own personalities (Which effects gameplay: What they eat, do for fun and how they interact with other colonists), skills, animations and even full voice-acting. So it's kind of the exact opposite of Dorfort in that respect.
