So I was lookin at grave storage so they would stop dumpin dead animals in them and I noticed there was an option that said mechanoid. What is it? My idea is they are an ancient race if robots who have achieved self awareness and are deciding to rid there world of humans. Possibly a hard mode enemy for when raiders aren't  good enough anymore. They would have super explody lasers that would be like long ranged grenade launchers.

What are your thoughts. Think it's a good idea? Any news on them. ???

According to Tynan's dossier on the RimWorld Universe, Mechanoids are "Autonomous intelligent robots built for domestic, industrial or military purposes. Only available to advanced cultures because such complex AI is needed to control them."

What could the advanced cultures be?

I suppose worlds that have have progressed past midworld stage will be able to produce mechanoids. We likely won't see them in A3, but with the faction system in we will likely start seeing more specific technological tier based content slowly get added. However, I suspect we won't see mechanoids get added before the ruin generation engine gets more properly implemented as well.
