I was thinking about this for the pacing feedback, and nearly entered it there, before I remembered that thread is only for pacing.

So Asthma in game. I have Asthma, as I suspect several of you do. It seems to be annoyingly modelled in game. Constant and annoying "Colonist needs treatment" warnings followed by a trip to a medical bed.
It seems utterly random as well. Normally (at least for me) there's an underlying cause for an attack, and very few of them require hospital treatment (I've been to hospital twice). I'm assuming that the "colonist needs treatment" only applies to the severe attacks.

So is it possible to link Asthma to over factors? (this could also be used to link other conditions).

Things that should raise the risk of an Asthma attack in game:
Volcanic winter
Toxic fallout
cold snaps/Winter (Can we link it to temperature?)
Flu

So as we get more of those factors in play the higher the chance of a severe Asthma attack comes on, even going as far as getting a sudden severe illness out of no where if enough of the factors are in play?

Humidity isn't in the game. Plus Humidity doesn't effect me (Others may differ) but its air quality that's the killer.

I think cleanliness is a big thing, and perhaps if any way to track physical exertion would be perfect.  Researching in a clean lab,  athsma is a non issue.  Hauling rock out of a dusty mine? Potentially lethal.
Why to people worry about following their heart? Its lodged in your chest, you won't accidentally leave it behind.

Its bad because reasons, and if you don't know the reasons, you are horrible. You cannot ask what the reasons are or else you doubt it. But the reasons are irrefutable. Logic.

I think it should be changed to the colonist coughing sometimes and stop what they are doing for a moment (like when they have cryosleep sickness and vomit) only very rarely should they need to be hospitalized.

Yes, I have asthma also, and I thought it's very unrealistic how it needs to periodically treated. It should need to be treated after large amounts of exertion, for example, nonstop hauling, walking across the map, or melee fighting.

This is like being in a remote fishing town in Libera and asking, "Why can't I just pay one of the fishermen $10 to take me back to Los Angeles?"
