Dead colonist can't be put in gibbet cage [mantis]

I've tried just colonist, stranger and colonist, and all three checked in the options box, but nobody wants to put my deceased colonist in my "motivation garden". Is this common?

Yu, the one not in a gibbet cage, she/he? has been dead a while, I haven't given up.
