[A13] Pawns are standing in place instead of performing tasks assigned to them

My world had toxic fallout, so I forbid the use of outside doors and kept the colonists inside for an extended period of time. Recently the colonists would just stand in place around dining table, usually overlapping each other. They sometimes went to do another task, but soon would be idle again. If I manually issued an order like mining a block, they would mine one block and then stand in place afterwards.

Shut down game and played again the next day. Standing bug still occurring. I've also noticed that I haven't been getting the sidebar alerts that there is a trade ship in orbit, but I do get the top bar notice that they leave signal range.

Changed the priorities from manual to automatic and standing bug did not resolve itself. Went back to manual priorities and pawns still remain standing in place.

Pawns still do tasks like eat or cook, but will suddenly stop and stand for a period of time. They will mine one block and then stand still. Will start moving when it is a scheduled time for joy or sleep, but start/stop work tasks during work periods.

Thanks for the report and the savefile. I've run your colony for 2 days and didn't notice any pawns standing in place. How often does it happen? What does it say in the bottom left corner when you click on an idle pawn? Also, it would be great if you could upload the logfile.

I've noticed one strange thing in your savefile, it's that there are 2 things which have the same ID, and this shouldn't ever happen.

I too have experienced the same bug.

In my case, I have a pawn set to Construction (priority 2) and Repair (priority 1).
I have a construction designation set (all materials are available but no material loaded to the designation itself).
I have a room with a damaged thing (eg. chair) in my home zone but the door is Locked/Forbidden.
My pawn just stays standing but I expect him to ignore the damaged thing (because no path) and move on to his next priority which is construction.
If I right click the construction designation, my pawn fetches the material then loads it to the construction thing then stops and stands on place (status: Standing; No "# colonists idle" tip).

After I unforbid the door, the pawn stopped standing still, went to repair the chair, then constructed my stuff.

Edit:
Started a new colony, no mods. was able to reproduce bug.
Save file attached.

Edit 2:
It seems colonist animals are affected too. I've just seen my dog starve (0 food, 0 rest) and he's just standing still (Status: standing). I had an unforbidden insect corpse inside a locked room. When I unlocked the door he started moving again. Went straight for the insect corpse.

I do not see any colonist idle notifications, but when you click on the pawn their task info says "Standing". I thought I had included the correct log file, but will get that to you when I am at my home computer again.

"-Posting a log file means posting the output_log file from the RimWorld###_Data folder." This is the log file you need, correct?

I mostly saw the standing issue around the dining table, freezer and the mining job nearby. I did not run the colony long term after seeing the standing issue as I wanted to make a bug report since it was unusual. It only seems to occur during their scheduled work hours.  I will try to take some screenshots and include those as well.

the same thing happened to me... My doctor (Doc) was going to fix one of my colonist (I don't remember who) and he was just standing on top of the medicine and then i tried to get another colonist to do it and he did the same thing so i waited a few minutes only to find that the patient died

Here is my save file and log again. Also attached text file with links to Forge.gg videos.

EDIT: Also I found that when I removed all other priorities other than mining, the pawns behaved correctly without stopping to stand. Maybe a priority conflict since they are forbidden from leaving the base?

Yup, same problem, only with butchering. No matter where or when i make a bill at butcher table, the cook just stands still, just like described.

RooSalad

I'm also getting the bug on vanilla (no mods) A13.

It seems after about 3 days pass in a fresh colony, ALL of my colonist totally break and are permanently left "Status: Standing" (doing nothing until they starve to death).
I cannot figure out what is causing this, but it is making my game completely unplayable. I've had to revert back to A12...

I will add my savefile and some images when I get home from work.

Mike3k

This keeps happening to me...I can't play, after a while one of my pawns get stuck at "Standing"

Yitzi

It happens with me as well. I wasn't suffering any of these problems until yesterday though, so I assumed it was my mods. It probably still is, but I don't know, it could be the vanilla game itself.

I don't have restrictions at all, or forbidden objects, so they should work as usual. My only colonist standing still doesn't have much difference between her and the others, but she's the only one frozen.

the.adoxographer

I'm having the same issue.

Look at Emmie up on the north of the base, I can't get her to move, even if I recruit her. She just stands and does nothing.

Attached the save file.
