As tynan stated not so long ago.

There is no date for steam. He has no idea.

I figured that, It was just something I've been curious about just based on the fact I prefer to play on steam :P

Backers will get an email when the Steam keys are available, right?  As long as I'm kept in the loop, I can be a patient little boy.

i wouldn't rush to steam if he can help it, it's great for getting notice, but you also get the complaints about updates, the harrashment, the people trying to force you to change your idea's when they've not even bought the game. I'd wait till the core game is in place first, specially as the game has a healthy pre-release income and doesn't need steam for emergency cash flows.

People on steam also seem to suffer from a case of "If it has challenge, remove it " which in my opinion doesn't fit this game at all. Hopefully we will have enough content by steam that we don't get complaints like this.
So dwarf fortress in space eh?
I love it.
I love it so much.
Please keep it that way.

I've gotten a bad taste in my mouth for steam early access, at first I thought it was cool, and supported it, but now the flow just seems to never stop, and games that don't deserve to be on steam are getting a nest before laying the eggs, like a silent cancer that keep promoting unfinished unproven "what is this" titles that hardly even explain themselves. Just look at the thousands of games trying to fill in DayZ.

I hope y'all hold off on it long enough for them to get there mess together and let their early access system become more reputable.

Please just, take your time if you decide to go through that route.

I agree with you on that, tynan take as much time as you want and more. And make it clear on the steam page what this game is meant to be like.So people don't complain about stupid things because they don't know enough.

Also clearly link them to THIS forum, because IMO the steam forums suck.

Ive talked about steam a couple of times with tynan.
He won't release rimworld unless he feels the game is worthy of a release on steam.

He has no financial pressure to release it fast or soon. Wich he is thankfull for.
This way he is able to develop a game that once it gets on steam it will have a positive look. And wont get bad previews for the first months/year.
And after that it cant be saved.

So just be patient. Tynan will release when he releases. And that will be when he thinks its worth of a release.
Might be 3 months might be a whole lot more.

That pretty much sums it up.

Kerbal was out for years before it was on Steam. Prison Architect for many months. I'm not in a huge hurry. It'll happen.
