Hello all!

I've put about 300 hours into Rimworld, and about 6 months ago I did a Rich explorer playthrough on Sea ice (Cassandra Classic Rough I believe). After 180 days, I built a single transport pod and launched myself across the map blind into Boreal forest, where I built a thriving colony.

Has anyone ever got as far as deep mining on sea ice? Is there anything to mine? Has anyone successfully built a ship on sea ice?

In A16 or 17 I did sea ice start-to-finish and launched a ship with ~8 people (forget exactly) on Randy/Extreme.  Since calling caravans got nerfed to heck and you need gobs of work + more uranium than ever to build the ship the waiting game to do this in B18 isn't worth the time for me to repeat it.

AFAIK deep drilling does not give you anything on sea ice, while all of the other biome options handle it similarly.  They also removed the trick with draining shallow water to create gravel on sea ice; no longer is it possible to get soil of any variety outside hydroponics on sea ice.

There is nothing to mine on sea ice, but the ship part can be done. Some people tried this challenge some months ago
