When signing up for my forum account, I was asked the question:
"The primary colors are red, green, and what?:"

Green is NOT a primary color, it is a secondary color, and a complement to red.

Primary colors are Red, Blue, and Yellow.

Alternatively, change the question to "What colors does the acronym "RGB" stand for?"

Please fix.

Well, RGB is the primary colors for light, such as rainbows. RBY is the primary colors for paint, such as printers.

Well, printers prefer CMY actually, but that's beside the point.
I like how this game can result in quotes that would be quite unnerving when said in public, out of context. - Myself

The dubious quotes list is now public. See it here

Well, it's ambiguous, to say the least.  IRL I'm an artist and work with varying mediums including dyes and paint.  Not only is knowing primaries & secondaries necessary for mixing colors, but also for planning color landscapes and expressing mood.

I've never tried to mix light before.  Split it with a prism, yes, but not mix. ;-)

Perhaps it is just a function of experiences that I find the question imprecise and inaccurate in some contexts.

Don't get me started on color gamuts.

The three pigmentary primaries are cyan, yellow, and magenta, anyway :P
