Where did all the cute little bunnies go?   :'(

There will come back animals from time to time, but due to lack of food they just stay until they get too hungry. Polar bears will feed on you colonists though.

It works much better in Boreal Forest where there's food for the herbivores.  On Ice Sheet, yeah, animals just leave the map if there's no food or if the temperature is out of range for them.

You can make one.  Just have food & appropriate temperature.  If they're wild, pen them in, roof it, and set a growing zone or food stockpile.  If they're tame, zone them somewhere where they can get heat & food.  Just be ready to feed all the little baby bunnies too!

I was going to near instantly slaughter them. Cute baby bunnies taste good. Tender meat.
