Hi everyone!

TL;DR: How does the news affect the price of companies and goods?

How do I know what goods a company manufactures or trades? For example, in the stock trading panel I can see the company names and their price graphs. But I don't see if company A mostly trades Wood, or if company B trades medicine. So when the news appears that there's a wood shortage or a medicine surplus, does that mean those companies stocks are going to go up or down?

Or is it more simplified than that and the news is really saying "Hey, colony BlahBlah will pay more for your wood since they're going through a shortage. Go sell them some."?

Thanks!

pretty sure wood shortage means wood price goes up, it has nothing to do with companies. Companies have their own news
