Cloth from cotton

I planted some cotton farm area and harvested it in the early going to have some on hand...assuming I needed to research something like (weaving) or something else but I don't see that in my research list.  I finished researching carpets so placed carpets in all my bedrooms...but it shows I don't have enough cloth stored (well, I have 0 so that's accurate).

According to what I've found online (reddit) it says that harvesting the cotton turns it into cloth...but mine still shows as raw cotton fiber.  How do I convert this to cloth for use?

Do you have a mod installed?

Here is for example one that drops cotton balls that need to be turned into cloth first:

There are probably others like this. But vanilla behavior is for plants to drop cloth

In that mod you can create a bill on the tailoring table to make cloth from cotton. Set it to forever maybe and will make cloth as long as there is material.
