Space Travel! moving to unlimited amount of new planets

I dunno, I beg to differ a bit on here.

This is a really *cheap* idea that tosses in a lot of replay.  Basically you're making a item at that point, that you can jam in X number of colonists into, animate, and bam, essentially new game started with the players pre-selected, not hard.

Having an end game device/whatnot that can be constructed to send colonists to another planet, only the ones you pick, with whats on their back, etc. isn't going to take much, but will add replay, even more if more biomes appear in the future, etc.  Retaining some level of established reputation (when such a system exists), etc.  Maybe a chance to backfire and end up just blowing up on the pad, killing/injuring your pick.  Maybe they potentially arrive injured/wounded/dead, there are tons of *cheap* possibilities here.

Explaining how they keep crashing, and why their pilots are so terrible on the other hand is a different matter.... I can't come up with a viable answer there.  Maybe they never make it out of atmo for all we know :).

Given the game starts with you crash-landing on some backwater shithole in the back of beyond and requires you to build a colony to survive, it seems a little odd and misplaced that the first thing you'd do when you get off that rock is... land on another backwater shithole in the back of beyond and start it all again.

If ever there's an "end game" in RimWorld, it'll be getting off whatever rock you've slammed into and going home.

Yea, it doesn't make sense, as the colonists may easly be turists or workers, not people with the objective of colonizating distant worlds, after seeing my ship get torn appart, feeling alot of fear and metal flying everywhere, then crashing in a world without much water or food, and raiders raiding every 5 minutes, i doubt i would want to crash on ANOTHER crappy planet, instead i would just go for the most safest planet... Also, the game is about storytelling the story of a colony, not about some people colonizing the entire universe...

that space travel sounds like a great idea but moving planet to planet is just like starbound, it got me thinking though build ships to go on scouting missions to other planets and bring back resources or send them to tradeships. load up the ship send it up and come back down with your purchesd stuff.
