I'm not sure if this is a bug, per se, but it's not smart AI behaviour.

I have a non-mountain base, but I have dug into some hills far south. Eventually, an infestation has appeared. No worries, I could care less- in fact, I have walled it so incoming raiders have to pass near the bugs for lols.

Unfortunately, friendly factions keep sending "help", and their guys come to my colony first, then charge off to be slaughtered by the bugs:

Now, this is a little immersion breaking, but not a game changer. Just thought I'd let you know as I am in no real danger from the bugs.

Yeah, not really a bug.  The AI is pretty good, but not amazing.  Having "amazing" AI would be rather costly in terms of both development time and CPU time.

Fair enough, I'll just help out the next would-be victims and crush the insect overlords.

This is like being in a remote fishing town in Libera and asking, "Why can't I just pay one of the fishermen $10 to take me back to Los Angeles?"

Is there a way to toggle if you're in danger or not?

It would be nice to have an ability to call off help.

Also, factions probably shouldn't send help if enemies on the map are not directly threatening your base. I had factions send help against very remote poison ship.

There should be 'Recieve random help' button in factions menu to prevent this kind of assistance. The help is ridiculous anyway, they send some bums with pistols and shivs against mechanoids or bugs. That is not a good AI behavior.
