So I have been playing for a few weeks and have started many colonies during this time. Over this time I've noticed many nice  things including item quality. My question is : does item quality effect the item at all besides value? I have made awful to masterwork quality items, weapons and apparel band never seen any of their status change besides item value.

Some instances I have seen it work is with Beauty on furniture but not so much weapons or apparel. Other than for value I have not seen hitpoints/stats/damage/range or insulation affected by anything besides material.

Thank you for your response and help. I've been looking on the forums for a while and can't find any suggestions or questions regarding this but maybe I search weird.

Hey there is some stuff on the wiki such as the affect on beauty, market value and deterioration rate.

But it should also change things such as bed/furniture rest/comfort and weapon base damage

Currently, there is a bug that just shows all base values when you have an item equipped. Drop it to the ground and check the values again.
As an example, I attached the different armor vest values, there is quite the notable difference.

Quality definitely affects armour values, as the guy above posted, and weapon accuracy - shoddy weapons will be noticeably less accurate than good ones, and masterwork [EDIT: I actually mean legendary. Damn you, DF muscle memory!] assault rifles have got 100% accuracy or close to it for all range bands. I don't think it affects base damage for ranged weapons though.

It gives a slight damage boost, the only thing that doesn't change is the range.

Huh, I haven't noticed a damage boost. Must have another look at the item stats next time I play.

Thank you for your help. I honestly see no difference but I think it's because I only check it when it's equipped lol
