yes it does, but it also depends on the material you make it with. The best armor stats for normal clothes are from Devilstrand i think. Hyperweave and Sythweave give some nice bonuses for dealing with mechanoids because they protect from fire damage, but devilstrand gives big bonuses for blunt and sharp damage. The quality of the item increases or decreases those bonuses appropriately.

But not all pieces of clothing are equally valuable. Pants and shirts offer little armor no matter what they're made from. The modifiers seem to be multiplicative. Take a look at dusters, jackets, even parkas. These should be your priorities if you prioritize armor value.

For sharp and impact armor value, this is true. However, good quality shirts and pants made from devilstrand (and some wool types?) offer a good amount of heat protection.

It would be best if you checked out the info on both the cloth item and the material.

Both have offsets and multipliers for armor type and temperature resistance.

Armor Types are mainly given by the materials,
While Temperature Resistance is governed by the modifier of the cloth item. Material only reacts to that, but can't add.

Which is different for all materials ( most leathers are similiar ) with synthread, hyperweave and devilstrand being the best for armor and wool being the best for temperature.
