I prefer a wolfpack, the more the merrier.  Bears are quite fearsome as well.  But rats?  Maybe the raiders will be overcoming with loathing and decide to flee.

I got an idea when I read your title... now that rats are in the game they should chew through our storages and eat our food and spread disease.
