Unclaimed worlds: A rimworld like game that looks marginally more interesting

That doesn't look interesting to me at all.. the graphics are too complex for the game in my opinion and just make it hard to dissern what things are at a glance.

I dunno how the pace would play out, but it looks extremely slow paced..

I'll stick with Rimworld

Nice to see, i somehow find Rimworlds simpleness attractive too, but i always like more complex games in the end (Ala dwarf fortress, which is insparation for all of these games i think) And the tittle is a bit too offensive, sorry. But i couldn't just fit in "a game like rimworld that looks like it has more variety to everything, combat is semi-realistic, Huge variety of plants, alien life." I'm just intersted in knowning if Tynan feels like he has a wee bit of competition (new, semi realistic scifi colony builders with colonist life simulation are quite rare, you know)

thanks for sharing! i like the way it's interface and most of the other art assets looks, but the color scheme for the planet feels too much "psychedelic" looking, it's like somebody laced my monitor with a dash of lsd.. lol 

but i will check it out though! i was starting to get bored with banished anyways. gameplay was impressive, but the lack of battles kinda gets monotonous in the long run. (same reason i'm not fond of sim city either). but i guess it was interesting enough..

edit : i just checked it out. here's my first impressions.

the bad :

-the "base building" aspect is closer to typical RTS (ie : starcraft) or survival games like Don't Starve, since you don't seem to be able to create blueprints for the rooms of your base. you just plop pre-made tents and other assets the same way you'd drop a pylon or a command center to a pre-made map.

-maps are not procedurally generated, which is bad for replayability.

-upon closer inspection, the hand-drawn and water colored art style used in the background gives the graphics a dated look. plus the densely packed alien flora and fauna is a bit overwhelming to the eyes.

-i like the hand drawn message portraits. reminds me a bit of metal gear solid style.

-unlike the background art, the character art and animation looks great. (spacebase df9 still looks better though)

Hi Razorsharp, as someone who was an early alpha tester for the game I'm going to go ahead and shit on your parade. The game is honestly boring as sin with little to do and no real goal outside of a thrown together story. I wanted to like it I really did but it just came out as some odd pipe-dream that falls short really quickly. Sure you can blame early access but honestly RimWorld is in dev-stages far younger than this game and it's 12 times more interesting than Unclaimed. Save your dosh.
