AI Cores where art thou

I always thought every Mechanoid Shippart had an AI Core.

But I had three shipparts now and none dropped one.. two of them were poison ships one a psychic.

Is this normal or is it Randy ?
Maxim 1   : Pillage, then burn

Poison ships do not drop any, but all psychic ships do. Could it be that you somehow destroyed it?

Maybe I sold it :) The psychic ship was my first.

I was crapping myself over a psychic ship that landed in my yard, the  colony was not really in a position to tolerate losses.

I built 6 explosive IEDs around it, then build-cancelled 18 more around the ship in order to surround it with mortar shells.

Well, 4 centipedes and a scyther popped out. 4 Incendiary launchers and a top tier rifle..

Boom.

Only loot: Mechanoid corpses.

I'd love to see some uses for these AI-cores (others then for the spaceship), like it being an ingredient for making a later game robot or something like that.

There may be a mod or two for that :) ( Or why do you think I need an AI core ? )

I hope the Scyther survived to harvest the Blades :)
And Sorry about that, the only weapons mechanoids drop are miniguns.

I had a brand new A14 colony that acquired an AI core in mid-winter of the first year.  :)  But I was super lucky - a visiting caravan was carrying a psychic lance, an AI core, a couple megascreen TV's, etc.  I bought the lance, used it on the caravan's pack animals, and waited for the dust to clear.

Very exploity, very fun! ;D

now I remember, I bought the megascreen tv from a space trader with the AI core, I thought I can always get more from shipparts.
