How do I stop this planet destroyer count down now that I'm ingame?

No problem, when planet killer happens DO NOT hit OK, just press escape and keep playing. Also, do not update your game version.  This bug is fixed in next release.

I just verified this still works as of version 0.15.1280, but pretty sure it won't as of A15b (or whatever hotfix version will be).

If you're using Steam make a backup of your Rimworld game folder (path includes \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\RimWorld). That way if Steam updates it - and it will - you can still play the older version from the backup copy.  I've been running A14 from a backup like this. And when I want A15, I launch it from Steam.
