What do your non mountain bases look like?

Hey folks,

So been playing game non stop last month or so and loving it, currently doing the second hardest difficulty on Cassandra classic and I seem to have no problem at all most of the time... if I'm in a mountain. Any attempt to leave the loving embrace of the mountains usually ends with me dying rather quickly. I try to wall off a decent sized area and then create an area to funnel them into, but the walls are just so fragile compared to my mountains.

So I was wondering, can I see screen shots of your above world bases?

Here is a pic of my last colony. At the beginning it was hard. Now i have a lot of turrets controlled by a power switch. It tooks a while and a lot of digging for resources and buy it from traders. As you can see i have a doublewall. Most time my colonists dont need to go out for fighting.
Turrets are the very first i research.
In the meantime my colony is in outer space. :D I have just started a new colony in a mountain.

Edit: I have had the wrong pic.  :-\ I just changed it.

Really nothing special. This is 73 days into Randy Challenge map, although Randy has been rather dull so far.

I play without any turrets and rely on hit-and-run tactics through the doors to deal with threats. Definitely need stone walls / doors to pull it off (ideally all granite exterior). I would normally create a massive indoor farm, but this map happens to be all-year growing season, so I've delayed it.

EDIT: Should also point out my coolers dump heat into an unroofed room in the middle. Wouldn't want them to face exterior.

I don't have a picture, but i prioritise turrets, then stonecutting. Build a perimeter wall, with one entry point, lots of long corridors lined with traps and door shortcuts. Seems to work well. Turrets cover the opening and rest of base in case of drop-pod raiders and sappers
