Dark Earth was a project of literally astronomical proportions, for some reason, the planet´s artificial sun was shut down by its creators and now the planet is left in enternal darkness.

It is assumed that the planet´s heating components are still active as because the atmosphere maintains somewhat manageable temperatures. However be careful, scans indicate that those heating elements are unstable and tend to temporarily cease to function causing massive temperature decrease.
