So, using coolers and heaters and all that jazz is fantastic. However when you start to deal with larger and larger colonies the amount of energy wasted starts to become a bit excessive, and as such I began to think about alternatives.

So, why not a heat/cooling pipe system?

There could be a central heating and cooling plant block that controls temperature. Piping would come off of this block, and go underneath buildings and rooms to help heat and cool them without the pain of individual coolers and heaters, and individual temperature settings. There would be two types of piping, one that is passive (to route outside without wasting energy) and the other that actually changes temperature. To balance it out it should require a decent amount of power (maybe proportional to the amount of active piping used?).

What do you guys think? 8) I'd also love to try and help with the creation of art, though I'm not the best at it.

Not yet available for A15 :( There seem to be quite a few bugs in it though and it looks like it's not as efficient as one may think

Yeah, I used to love RedistHeat.
But it seems incredibly inefficient now. I don't know if that's on purpose, but even just a few tiles of pipe will not convey the temp well.
Still, using the big coolers and heaters + smart vents works well.

Someone done went and removed the CCL reliance on RedistHeat, so it's A15, now.
