Hi all, new to the forum but now new to Rimworld.  Decided to to play out the story idea of the game and keep a diary of the main events for a new play through.  He's not died yet, so will update as the game goes on.  Hope you enjoy!

Spring 6 - Weary of the hustle and bustle of the glitter worlds and those illogical fools that referred to him as "neurotic" and "psychopathic", constantly bugging him to go see a shrink.  He could afford it certainly, but the so-called experts of the mind were as stupid as everyone else.  It was thus that Donny and his husky Mason set off to find somewhere that he'd not have to put up with idiots again, a far off planet.  Never intending to come back, he liquidated all his assets to make planetfall with a lot of materials for his new home.
Landing in a mountainous portion of the mainland, he quickly chose a small ravine to suite his needs and set to work building a modest shelter.  Without any social requirements to distract him, a small complex of wooden rooms was assembled and roofed before even the first night.

Spring 7 - Problem working out space for a fridge, but solved by putting the generator in the kitchen.

Spring 8 - Kitchen built, and the lights turned on.  Things were progressing well.  There was the unfortunate distraction when someone showed up unannounced from "Toxos Bidueiro Billa", and seemed to have stopped by just to chat.  Considerable time was wasted staring at him until he left.

Spring 9 - Work on bedroom delayed in favour of building some defences, maybe turrets will discourage visitors.  The rest of the day was a write off as Donny was attacked by a rabid gazelle and forced to bed with bruised ribs.

Spring 10 - Against all probability, and against the instructions Donny left her... Donny's wife, Caldwell landed on the planet.  Not only did she ignore all suggestions that she was not welcome, but she immediately began criticizing the decor and named their new home "Kalathul".
Being the happy-go-lucky animal lover that she was, she set herself the task of domesticating some of the local animals.  Donny could only hope she had left the wine behind and that rehab had worked.  He didn't ask why she was naked.
Unfortunately, having another mouth to feed meant Donny had to learn to shoot things; and while he had bought the best rifle he could he was surprised to learn that it did not aim itself.

Spring 11 -  While hunting, Donny was attacked by a member of a group calling themselves "The Nutty Lineup".  Fortunately a mace is no match for a charge rifle; however inexpertly aimed.  Thankfully Caldwell was not present to offer her opinion on the morality of kicking an injured man to death, but it did solve the problem of Donny's wife having no pants.

Spring 14 - Finally had a few peaceful days, and Caldwell had been both useful and tolerable.  Donny put this down to the lack of wine and smokeleaf, or whatever else she used to take.  While she mined out a bedroom, he worked on planting some basic crops and setting up an automated anti-visitor system.

Spring 15 - Some traders from Toxos Bidueiro Billa interrupted again, but this time Caldwell dealt with them and was actually able to get some decent clothes and additional food.  Donny did have to stop her buying beer though.  The food situation was also helped when 100lbs of squirrel meat dropped from orbit... much to the confusion of all concerned.
The day got worse from there.  First an escape pod landed nearby, containing an injured woman called Boots and Caldwell insisted on building a new bedroom and helping them.  Less than an hour later a cry for help came over the radio, someone called Robert was being chased by those fools from The Nutty Lineup.  Before Donny could turn the radio off and go to bed, Caldwell had snatched the receiver and assured the runaway that he could shelter at Kalathul.
The pirates fled after one of them was killed, and the other injured.  Unfortunately Caldwell prevented the latter being kicked to death so the day ended with two injured  prisoners in a makeshift hut and one grateful Robert who had now been invited to stay.
His wife was bad enough, but now Donny's quiet retreat now contained five people.  Robert at least promised to take over the hunting and cooking, a tedious task at best.

Summer 1 - Despite Donny's instructions to send her packing, Caldwell recruited the crashed survivor Boots to join.  It was pointless considering the woman had no discernible talents and refused to do almost all work.  Much to Donny's annoyance he was outvoted on the matter, and the others refused to accept that Kalathul was not going to be a democracy! Worse, having given his rifle to Robert for the hunting, even the threat of violence didn't help.

Summer 2 - Fortunately the pirate prisoner died of an infection, so the population of Kalathul didn't gain a 5th unwanted mouth.
But no sooner had the pirate been buried that his fellows attacked again! The fight was brutal, and Robert saved the day, making Donny glad he's surrendered his rifle to someone who could actually aim.  In a stroke of genius, Donny encouraged the useless Boots to join the fight whereupon she was caught in the cross-fire and ceased to be a problem.
A burly man named "Easy" was taken prisoner with his two fellows killed, and all hoped this would be the last heard of The Nutty Lineup.
