Animal Rescue doesn't work?

I have a trained wolf in my colony and she recently finished rescue training, except a raid just happened and we had won, although 3 colonists were downed. I have 5 colonists and the wolf so I couldn't rescue everyone at the same time. The wolf IS set to rescue people but there was a colonist lying incapacitated on the ground and she just targeted the fleeing raiders, and when they were gone she just followed her master who was rescuing another colonist.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

This is like being in a remote fishing town in Libera and asking, "Why can't I just pay one of the fishermen $10 to take me back to Los Angeles?"

iff the master is recruited, they wont do other tasks
Why to people worry about following their heart? Its lodged in your chest, you won't accidentally leave it behind.

Its bad because reasons, and if you don't know the reasons, you are horrible. You cannot ask what the reasons are or else you doubt it. But the reasons are irrefutable. Logic.

Probably a draft problem, since the animals stick to their master when the master is drafted(which adds some annoying micro when a colonist has bonded with a quick to die animal). Was the colonist still drafted at the time of the rescues being done?

I think so, that must have caused it. Thanks to the both of you for helping to clear this up.
