I like the general concept, though before this I'd prefer mounting animals in combat , or for transport.

Maybe the animals could be something that could unlocked at a lower tech level or as a training option?  Then at higher levels you could unlock vehicles, and then armored vehicles, and then armored vehicles with mounted weapons.

A simple buggy, kanoo or pedalboat built for deep fishing (dynamite fishing?), a motorbike, all that would be way fun

I can recall a mod added vehicles to the game. Don't fully remember how they worked though. Sometimes pirate raiders would come in on atvs. Think they were mostly used for hauling and traveling long distances on the map.

But yeah, the idea of a eight man raid getting backed up by two technicals (Those trucks with a MG stapled to them) is brilliant.
