In the 18th century Ben Franklin developed lightning rods and grounding.

In the 19th century they developed fuses, and in the 20th century circuit breakers were invented.  Maybe at some point the game can make this high tech available.

Just had a bear die on one of my concrete tiles. Some days later, there was a thunderstorm that caused a fire. The fire jumped from the grass onto the bear and then jumped an entire tile to reach my power conduit. Things made from steel really need some resistance to fire. I'm with with them taking damage if there's something else on fire on top of them, but it's just ridiculous that steel can actually burn like this.

I also wish I could designate an area for fire suppression without also designating it for cleaning.

Yeah, I think everyone is waiting for the "No Cleaning Please" mod to be updated. It should be part of vanilla.

Rimworld is a very high oxygen environment.  Many things burn that would not on Earth, but in the high oxygen environment are easily ignitable.

Ever see the video of the engineers who started their barbecue with LOX? The result was pretty impressive.
